Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vettd, Inc. (“Vettd,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit our website or use our guest-screening service (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.
1. Overview
Vettd helps Airbnb hosts make more informed decisions about prospective guests by summarizing publicly available review history into an easy-to-read report. We collect the minimum information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and improve that service, and we never sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide to us
- Account information: email address, phone number, username, and password when you register;
- Payment information: billing name, address, and payment-card details, processed on our behalf by our third-party payment processor (we do not store full card numbers on our own servers);
- Guest-lookup input: the Airbnb profile link, guest name, or other identifying information you submit to generate a Report;
- Communications: the content of messages you send us, such as support requests or feedback; and
- Marketing preferences: your consent choices regarding email and SMS communications.
b. Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps;
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 5 below; and
- Approximate location: derived from your IP address, used only for fraud prevention, localization, and analytics.
c. Information from third-party sources
- Publicly available guest-review data that a Report is built from, sourced from publicly accessible listing and review pages you point us to;
- Payment processors, who share limited transaction status information (e.g., payment succeeded/failed) with us; and
- Analytics and infrastructure providers, described in Section 6.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate your access;
- Generate, deliver, and improve the accuracy of Reports;
- Process payments and manage subscriptions;

- Send you marketing emails and text messages, where you have opted in, about product updates and offers;
- Monitor, analyze, and improve the performance, security, and usability of the Service;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the Service is used. Categories of cookies we use include:
- Strictly necessary — required for core functionality such as authentication and security, and cannot be disabled;
- Preference — remember settings such as your billing-period toggle selection;
- Analytics — help us understand aggregate usage patterns so we can improve the Service; and
- Marketing — used, where applicable, to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use some features of the Service.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, email/SMS delivery, customer support tooling, and analytics, under contractual obligations to protect your information;
- Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers, where necessary;
- Legal & safety purposes, where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of Vettd, our users, or the public, or investigate fraud or security issues;
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, subject to the transferee’s agreement to honor commitments in this Policy; and
- With your consent, for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.
7. SMS & Email Communications
If you check the box during sign-up agreeing to receive texts and emails from Vettd, we will send you account, product, and marketing communications by SMS and email. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any text message;
- Clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email; or
- Updating your communication preferences in your account settings, or emailing privacy@tryvettd.com.
Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you transactional or account-related messages (such as billing receipts or security alerts) that are necessary to the Service.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Guest-lookup history and generated Reports are retained for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 10.
9. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
- Portability — request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Restriction & objection — request that we restrict or stop certain processing of your data; and
- Withdraw consent — withdraw previously given consent (e.g., for marketing) at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tryvettd.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30–45 days). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share;
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (Vettd does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information; and
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@tryvettd.com or contact us using the details in Section 17. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
12. International Data Transfers
Vettd is based in the United States, and information we collect may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries that may have data-protection laws different from those of your home jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect personal information transferred internationally.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@tryvettd.com.
14. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is not yet an accepted industry standard for how to respond to such signals, the Service does not currently respond to them differently than it would otherwise.
15. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, including Airbnb listing and profile pages. This Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of any third-party site. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by additional notice such as an email to the address associated with your account. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
